Jigsaw4U Helpline

In 2018, the Patrick Evans Foundation was pleased to support a vital bereavement helpline in partnership with Jigsaw 4 U, which supports young people through trauma and loss.

The helpline was established as a pilot following an increase in calls to the charity for help and advice from parents, family members, friends, schools and practitioners needing guidance when a child’s parent, sibling or friend has died, or is expected to die.

Funding from the Foundation has enabled Jigsaw4U to provide dedicated worker time to respond to phone calls, emails and other correspondence, as well as providing initial advice and information to help reduce stress and anxiety.  If the person dealing with the call feels that further guidance, they can then provide advice on a referral to the Jigsaw4U Grief team or another agency.

Over the course of a year, the programme has been able to help 188 individuals - providing support, advice and consultation.
