Help the Patrick Evans Foundation win 10,000

23/02/2011

To mark the end of our very successful first year, we have entered into a competition to win 10,000. The competition is for charities who work closely with their local communities and we feel that The Patrick Evans Foundation is the perfect local charity to win.

Patrick suffered from a form of kidney disease and for this reason we have forged a relationship with the South-West Thames Kidney Fund, based locally in Surrey. They want to purchase a Bio-Rad CFZ 96 Real Time PCR system to aid their research into cures for chronic renal disease, and we want to buy this equipment for them.

However, we are currently £8,000 short of the £18,000 price for one of these machines.

The Trust is an independent research institute seeking to improve the understanding and treatment of renal disease, as well as to support patients and staff. As a charity, we've received a huge amount of support from Patrick's friends, family and neighbours in the area, and so know how crucial grass roots support can be; our flagship event 'Party for Patrick' has already made its mark as a local family family festival. We really want to carry on this connection with our community, and so would love to  be able to help support the South-West Thames Kidney Fund.

To win the competition we just need to receive as many votes as possible, to get into the top 10 shortlist before voting closes on 28th April 2011.

To vote for us via Facebook please use.... www.localstar.co.uk/cause/the-patrick-evans-foundation/

You do need a Facebook account to vote - so ask a friend if you don't have one. Or equally, if you feel like joining, make sure you also find us here.

In total there are three cash prizes to be won, which can help us to make a real difference to someone's life through the research that the South West Thames Kidney Fund undertake:

First Prize: £10,000

Second Prize: £5,000

Third Prize: £3,000

Please help us by voting and let's see if we can start off the second year of our charity by winning £10,000 for a fantastic cause!
