Patrick died tragically following a skiing accident while on a family holiday  in France.

Patrick on his 21st birthday

In the year since Patrick died we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of his family and friends who have raised in excess of £20 000 for two charities which were close to his heart. This has inspired us to set up a Foundation in Patrick's memory which will raise money for causes which he held dear and  mean that Patrick continues to make a difference in other people's lives.

Patrick had a short life, but a very full one, taking opportunities whenever they arose. He lived by his favourite motto, ‘carpe diem’ and he died doing what he loved best. We want everyone to remember Patrick as he lived, fun loving, larger than life, exuberant, the life and soul of every party, whilst also being fiercely loyal, fair minded, thoughtful and so endearing. Patrick was a huge personality and he was always busy; going to the gym, watching football, socialising with friends or enjoying a family meal with us. He loved watching and playing sports of all kinds, but his particular passion was football.

We have tried to make the mission statement for Patrick’s Foundation reflect the things that Patrick was concerned about and it gives us some comfort that something positive can arise from our personal tragedy.
